Stereography

Our skilled Creative Directors can serve as Stereographers for your 3D project. Establishing comfortable and impactful 3D is an art not practiced by many. Our Creative Directors understand the nuances of what we describe as the “Parallax Budget”. We make sure that separation does not extend beyond infinity as that can cause severe eye fatigue. Most importantly, we make sure that there is consistent and comfortable shot-to-shot conformity, so the visual experience does not take you out of the most important element of the feature: the story.

PreViz

Pre-visualization is the introductory step to our process. With PreViz you can experience the effect of Dimensionalization on your concept art and begin to get a feel for what your project would look like in 3D.

Dimensionalization^®

As our core service, Dimensionalization is a unique form of conversion—a patented process which utilizes algorithms to distinctly effect position, shape and perspective for any defined area in a given shot. This process is immediate, with no render time, and is applied globally throughout each shot once applied in any of the frames. Once the shot is complete, the Creative Directors can Depth Grade the work as described below. We can work on complete, flat 2D images of any difficulty. However, working with layers of CG elements or green screen shot material can make Dimensionalizing your project much more efficient and cost effective.

Depth Grading

In3gue, our proprietary software, has a unique capability to effect what we call Depth Grading. Akin to Color Grading, Depth Grading allows the director to achieve his or her artistic vision with no discomforting disparities. This ability to dynamically adjust depth, shape and perspective of individual objects or groups of objects also allows the 3D effect to be tuned for any screen size. Depth Grading is an automated part of our process. In most cases we can readjust the depth, shape and perspective of any object with the director in the screening room guiding us. During these depth grading sessions we dial in exactly what a director requires to execute his vision. Finally and most importantly, Depth Grading allows the depth of a sequence to be easily adjusted to achieve Depth Conformity so the 3D remains comfortable throughout the movie. This can be done at your location or here at In-Three.

Capture Support

If you have chosen to shoot your film with stereo cameras, there might be instances where you can't quite capture the shot that you had originally envisioned. In-Three can either Dimensionalize that shot from scratch or edit the captured depth choices in order to accurately represent your artistic intentions. We can also adjust any stereo pair of images captured with two cameras if the depth was not correct. We can add shape or perspective and manipulate position to get the right conformity for the shot.

Stereo-Effects Consulting

In-Three can provide a stereo-effects consultant to advise you on the best shooting methods to facilitate efficient Dimensionalization. Also, our consultants can advise you on how to achieve the optimum 3D effect given the content of the story.
